The latest version of V-Ray 5 for Revit includes Real-time Rendering

BIM workflows can now enhance with photorealistic and real-time renderings with the introduction of V-ray 5 for Revit. V-Ray’s final rendering engine helps users to achieve full photorealism by providing them with a real-time view of their daily Revit work. In addition to its powerful 3D content library designed specifically for architecture, V-Ray 5 for Revit also comes with Chaos Cosmos.

In addition to improved accuracy across the board, V-ray 5 is more accurate when the sun is near the horizon, just before sunrise, and right after sunset. A new automatic fix for repeating textures allows for subtle variations in textures and materials. Reflections add on polished or lacquered surfaces without blending materials. V-Ray and native Revit materials can now both use displacement.

A Brief History of Chaos

Chaos, founded in 1997, has offices in Sofia, Prague, Seoul, Tokyo, and Los Angeles. In a wide range of industries, the Chaos group produces photorealistic imagery and animation, allowing artists and designers to express themselves. In addition to developing 3D rendering and simulation software, Chaos also supports advertising agencies, graphic design firms, and companies making visual effects.

As a result of its role in promoting the mainstream adoption of ray-traced rendering in motion pictures in 2017, the company’s physical-based rendering software, V-Ray, was honored with an Academy Award. Innovations in cloud rendering, ray tracing, and real-time visualization are revolutionizing how users communicate design.

New Features of V-Ray

Real Time Visualization

A virtual reality viewer that works in real-time can display high-quality representations of Revit models as architects work on them. With V-Ray Vision, users can visualize their new ideas and gather customer feedback quickly, throughout the entire project.

Top AutoCAD Tips for Newbie and Expert

Many people use AutoCAD daily, and it is among the leading CAD programs in the world. Aside from architecture, engineering, product design, and others, AutoCAD skills are in high demand. If you are a complete novice, it can be challenging to figure out the software.

Getting to grips with AutoCAD can be challenging. As a result, many beginner photographers don’t know where to start. The most important thing is to make sure you’re comfortable using AutoCAD before learning the basics. Having a good understanding of where everything is and how it works will make the process less confusing.

Basic Commands

AutoCAD commands are next on the list for newcomers. You can run a process by typing a command or command shortcut on the command line. The entire process of drafting can speed up this way. AutoCAD sometimes asks you for coordinates when you execute these commands. The faster you become at these commands, the quicker you can turn out drawings.

It is relatively simple to use these commands. You can quickly learn the hotkey shortcuts throughout the program. MIRROR, for example, is spelled MI for short. You’ll become more proficient at AutoCAD if you start using commands right away.

Useful Commands

This set of commands is a little bit more intermediate than the previously described ones. There are no hotkey shortcuts for them. You might have to memorize it a little longer than usual. Most likely, you’ll use these commands once you’ve become accustomed to AutoCAD. Use them only after you’re familiar with the basics. It might be an issue if you don’t follow these directions.

Introducing Revit’s Top Ten New Features in Latest Version

The new version of Revit looks much better than the last one, but there are certainly some interesting new functions, as this article discusses its uses in architecture.

1. Import PDF to Revit

There is a new Import PDF tool in the Insert tab of the ribbon. The PDF will import as a 2D object only in the current view. The page to import from a PDF file must specify each time you select one. DPI import values can also be specified.

With the Enable Snap feature, you can use tools such as pick lines to interact with vector lines. Once the snaps are activated, you can use the pick walls tool to include the PDF in new walls or other model elements. The PDF can be managed through the Manage Images menu. On both the Insert and Manage tabs, this tool can be found.

2. New Travel Tool Path

You can select both a start point and an endpoint with the new Path of Travel feature. The shortest path will then be calculated automatically by Revit. It will thus attempt to locate doors rather than walls.

Line styles will be unique, custom by default for paths of travel lines. The default line style of Travel Lines can be used, or another can be selected using the instance properties. Paths can be drawn in a variety of line styles. Objects will avoid by default in the travel path. You include a furniture element. Click on the update button and select the travel path. This new object will adapt to it.

The 10 Best Tips for Speeding up 3D Rendering

Timeliness is important to you. Whatever the case may be, 3D visualizations can be of use to you whether you are a 3D artist, a project manager, or a client. There is a concern that 3D renderings will complete on time. You are completely right about your concerns because missing deadlines can lead to negative feedback and reputational damage.

A. 2D & 3D CAD file Uses

The creation of 3D renderings will be easier if clients provide CAD files, which can use by 3D artists. Applications like 3D AutoCAD, Solid Works, ArchiCAD, Revit, or AutoCAD 3D files can import 3D CAD objects.

So, they are usable and don’t need to be created from scratch. Almost all 3D rendering applications support importing splines from two-dimensional files, such as AutoCAD designs and Adobe Illustrator designs. There is no need to create splines from scratch in these cases.

B. In Build 3D models & Textures Uses

Models and textures do not have to be made by 3D artists. 3D artists across the globe have created stock 3D models. These models include bathroom accessories and fixtures, plants, trees, flowers, furniture, light fixtures, and cars.

There are exceptions if you need to create a specific piece of furniture, accessory, or anything else and are unable to find a 3D model on a 3D stock platform. Then it is necessary to create a 3D model for each object. You can save money and time by downloading and purchasing 3D models from stock platforms.

Grids in 3D views for Revit 2022

3D Views can be enhanced by adding a background, adjusting camera positions, or changing view parameters. Using the View tab, select the Create panel, and finally select the 3D View drop-down menu.

Following the default 3D view, you can select three options:

• Camera.
• Walkthrough.
• Default 3D view.

Grids in 3D Views

Model grids can be displayed and modified in a 3D view. Annotation Categories is the tab of the Visibility or Graphic Overrides dialog box where grid visibility can be changed.

Several of the same techniques can be applied to 3D views as to 2D views, such as the following:

A. Use the Visibility or Graphic Overrides dialog to hide grids based on an element, category, or filter.

B. You can change the graphics of individual grids or based on the setting for view filtering.

C. Halftone grids can be displayed through the Display Overrides or Visibility dialog boxes.

D. You can specify the extent of the grids plane in the scope box.

E. Grid elevations can be changed.

F. The grid can be copied or cut and pasted into another model, or added to another model.

G. The model can be deleted by deleting the grids.

H. Place other elements according to grids.

I. Input and output properties of a grid instance.

J. Annotation Categories tab menu; use Visibility or Graphic Overrides settings to include grid visibility as part of a view template.

Tutorial for Beginners on using Autodesk Revit 2022

Users can learn how to accomplish common architectural tasks with the help of these workflows. Get a new project off the ground with these workflows. Check out the following options to determine whether they will be useful.

Then, find out how and when you can implement these options during your project cycle. Make sure to enter project-specific information when creating a project with Autodesk Revit 2022. Building models are contextualized by the site plan.

Project Set Up

Make sure to enter project-specific information when creating a project with Autodesk Revit 2022.It is not possible to backward-compatibility Revit models. You cannot open an older model that was created or modified using a version of the software prior to the current release.

1. CAD & BIM managers typically provide project templates, or you can use a default.

2. Please enter the name of the client, the project name, the project number, and the address.

3. The geographic location, the survey point, and the base point of the project must be specified to provide context for the model’s location.

4. A new phase and an existing phase are by default defined in Autodesk Revit 2022. In addition, existing structures are demolished. Creating additional phases for your project is a good idea.

Revit’s Master Phases: 10 Advanced Tips

A number of advanced phasing strategies are shown in this article, including how to leverage the new double pattern feature of Revit 2019 and the new phasing in view filter added in Revit 2022.

1. Strategy of Using Double Pattern with Phases

Revit’s interface has undergone a few changes since then. Phases have drastically changed in Revit 2019’s update. Double patterns are introduced in it. To make an existing brick wall, you can combine the pattern of the phase with the material pattern in the example below. With a phase graphics override, you can easily represent existing elements without losing the pattern of the materials. In previous versions of Revit, this was not possible.

Fill solids with solid fills and lines with foreground patterns. You will lose graphical components if you set the solid fill as the foreground. Then, you can blend the foreground of a material with the background of an override without losing any information.

2. Shading Property in Material Override

In phase material overrides that use shaded or consistent colors, the colors set in the shading will be used. If you select graphics override from the menu, you can select a material override. There are some issues with it, however. An example of this would be if you had a wall with multiple layers of materials, they would all be gotten rid of and replaced by a single layer.

3. Managing Infill Elements

The infill element in Revit automatically fills in the hole left by a demolished door or window. The wall can be patched if you wish. Sometimes, however, you want a new door or window! There is a likelihood that problems will arise at that time. This warning will appear if you attempt to delete the infilling element. You will be able to delete the demolished door if you proceed but you need to be careful.

Learn How to Master Landscape and Topography in Revit with These 14 Tips

Autodesk’s products are often frustrating for landscape architects and users of complex sites. It’s good news that the community came together to find great workflows and build outstanding plug-ins that resolve issues with the landscaping features.

1. TOPOSURFACEs should be used on simpler sites instead of floors

The TOPOSURFACEs tool is often used to create sites in Revit. Modeling generally teaches this way because it’s the most common workflow. Despite this, TOPOSURFACE can deal with difficulty. TOPOSURFACEs and pads are difficult to build for most users. Simple sites best represented by floors. There should be a unique flooring type for every hardscape component, such as pavement, sidewalks, grass, and soil.

2. Specify Exterior as the Site Floor Function

You can filter, schedule, and control the visibility of site floors by setting the type property to Exterior inside the type property. A floor schedule can filter to exclude site floors. The exterior floors should also have Room Bounding unchecked.

3. Make Simple Slopes with Floors

It is possible to create slopes using floors. The first technique is to use arrows, where you set an arrow slope angle. The second option is to manually adjust the height of the points like it often happens with flat roofs.
