ARCHICAD 21 — Step up your BIM!

GRAPHISOFT® is the renowned BIM software developer for the architects and designers and it has recently announced about ARCHICAD 21. It is upcoming release of its industry-leading BIM software solution.

This recent version of ARCHICAD has introduced the highly-predictable Stair Tool which is featured GRAPHISOFT’s patent-pending Predictive DesignTM technology. Those who are familiar with ARCHICAD know that every fresh release of this application rotate around a theme that is named after a development.

So the theme of this new ARCHICAD 21 is “Step Up Your BIM.” It is a very unique way of capturing both the two main features of this release: 1) dramatically improved, which has modeling staircases and their accompanying railings, 2) the arrival of truly smart design tools in ARCHICAD that significantly rise up the ability as a BIM tool.

According to the Director of Product Management at GRAPHISOFT Peter Temesvari, aptitude has become a basic differentiates for ARCHICAD from the beginning. The architects love ARCHICAD as the next-gen Stair Tool provided them a creative, profitable and enjoyable user experience. This Stair Tool works with the heavy lifting in the background that makes sure that the architect’s stair design complies with the significant global and local design standards. This is turning the painful tasks in fun tasks. The GRAPHISOFT organization is also looking for further refined ARCHICAD’s best-in-class OPEN BIM workflows in this current version so that it can be made versatile collaboration in a very easy process. The features are described here that can improve the working skills.

  1. New Stair and Railing Tools: One of the most difficult tasks in architecture is designing the stairs from the stair has complied with the binding standards. The uncountable emphasis needs to sync design intent with these standards in a limited building which has meant tedious and manual work till now. This tool lengthens architect’s creativity with the automatic validation against the human ergonomics. With the help of this tool Architects can do the creative progress with placing stairs within simple polyline input and by choosing from different design options. The software offers selected best options which fit both the user’s graphical input and the chosen standards by solving a problem in different ways. Perceptive graphical methods give access to the users for easily work with the stair’s shape and customizing structural and finished components. The Railing Tool with the one click input create a readily associative railing with stairs whose posts and panels can be authorized as patterns or can be customized one by one.
  1. Updated CineRender Engine: Maxon has created this CineRender which offers for the architects combined, photo-realistic distributive options in the BIM context. The newest version of ARCHICAD 21 has introduced Light Mapping and Secondary GI methods for more practical yet fast distributive.
  1. Element Classification System: Any ARCHICAD model is like a central database which stores all project data and makes it accessible for any project stakeholder. It was not present in the earlier version of ARCHICAD; the earlier one provided a certain set of Element Classifications. But this new version introduces a flexible way for classifying elements which supports each national or company-standard classification system and these classifications are base for intelligent OPEN BIM workflows that provide extraordinary interoperability in disciplines. These classifications can be transferred between projects through XML file format.
  1. IFC Model Referencing: The IFC files as headlines into ARCHICAD are programmed as reference content. The inserted IFC reference content can be filtered by Model filtering like Structural or MEP or by element selection. This IFC model content can be modernized easily from the linked source file and in the case of broken link, the elements of the modules can be edited as normal ARCHICAD elements.
  1. Collision Detection: There has become a change of BIM as the existing workflow and architects are hugely receiving consultant information in a BIM format. For helping architects in fulfilling their role as main coordinator of the model, Collision Detection has become a definite part of the feature set that starts with ARCHICAD 21.
