Intelligent 3D PDF Exporter For Revit – The Newest Revit Add-In

This is an exclusive Revit video tutorial that sheds light on how to use intelligent 3D PDF Exporter for Revit to export 2D and 3D combined 3D PDF as well as export space to 3D PDF with texture.

It is an add-in software module for Revit. It facilitates the Revit users to transform 2D sheets and a number of model(s) with adjoining objects into a solo 3D PDF. It is also possible to export properties, hierarchy and material information into a user-friendly 3D PDF.

As soon as the file is exported, open the 3D PDF through adobe reader and consistently navigate the 3D and 2D simultaneously in one place.

This Revit add-in contains the following features :-

Overlay 3D on 2D Sheet: Choose 2D drawings and 3D models to integrate into one sheet. The user will be able to choose from particular 3D Plan/Room/Objects which can be overlaid onto the 2D sheet without any difficulty.

Export as per your requirement: It is not necessary to export the complete model, only export selected particular plans, rooms or objects. Export adjoining objects with offset setting.

Allow Intelligent TAG in 2D sheet: There is intelligent TAG system that can connect room number or curtain wall tags in 2D sheets with 3D information to facilitate the users for easy navigation to 3D in just one click.

Save Huge Time With One-Stop Dimensioning Tool In AutoCAD 2016

Lynn Allen, the renowned Autodek Technical Evangelist, presents some useful cad tips for new style of dimensioning with the new one-stop dimensioning tool in AutoCAD 2016 that will save significant modeling time.

This new tool will facilitate the autocad veterans to identify the objects and demonstrate potential dimensions. Just hover your cursor over any objects like lines, polylines, arcs, circles, etc to get instant preview of dimensions. Continue till the exact dimensions are shown and click once to choose and get them to place in the preferred location.

One can find this new dimension tool on the Home and Annotate tabs of the ribbon. One can also access it by writing DIM at the Command prompt.

How To Fill The Gaps In A Revit Fabrication Model With Route & Fill Tool In Revit 2017

This revit video highlights the new feature of Route and Fill in Revit 2017. With this new feature of Revit 2017, the MEP designers will be able to fill in the gaps in a Revit Fabrication Model for ductwork, pipework and electrical containment.

Route and Fill tool can be used to affix parts amid two open connectors rapidly and conveniently rather than arranging parts sequentially. The Route and Fill tool offers one or more solutions on the basis of the service. You can narrow the number of solutions can be restricted by filtering the fittings which are already in use.

Given below some useful tips for applying the Route and Fill tool:

1. Choose a fabrication part that contains an open connector. If the chosen part contains more than one open connector, the connector, to be routed from, must be selected initially.

2. Click Modify | Fabrication Parts tab Edit panel (Route and Fill). While moving the mouse, Revit surveys the open connectors in the view that belongs to the similar plane to find out the possibility of a connection. An arrow demonstrates on each available connector.

Note: A route should sustain in a single plane. Solutions that need two planes or three bends are not supported.

Note: The connection angle should be between 90 degrees.

In this regard an exclusive video tutorial is presented by Wm. Johnson, the senior application specialist MEP/AEC Solutions.

How To Use Design To Fabrication Tool In Revit 2017

This is an exclusive presentation by Wm. Johnson, senior application specialist MEP/AEC Solutions. The video is based on how to design generic Revit MEP parts and elements and transform them Autodesk Fabrication Parts in Revit 2017 to organize a model for detailed coordination modeling and construction.

It is now possible to transform design level of detail model element to construction level of detail elements or LOD 400 fabrication parts by applying the design to fabrication tool.

One can modify selected parts or an complete duct or pipe network. The Design to Fabrication tool offers a streamlined workflow as it is not necessary to redraw the fabrication model from the beginning. The result of the conversion depends on the design line algorithm applied by the Autodesk Fabrication products, and applies the identical content accessible in the Autodesk Fabrication products.

Chaos Group Introduces V-Ray For Revit Beta

The beta version of V-ray for Revit is just launched by Chaos Group.

The Chaos Group recently declared the availability of V-ray for Revit beta. By watching this Revit youtube video, one can gather information on this new release of V-ray for Revit and instruction for download. Now it is possible to apply v-ray core rendering technique in Revit for each phase of design progression.

As V-ray for Revit is still in beta testing phase, the renderer is still unreliable and some features are missing. It is suggested not to use it for production purpose. One can export the model to 3ds Max and render there, in the V-Ray Max.

Go through the following link, to register as a beta tester of V-ray for Revit www.chaosgroup.com

How to make perfect elevations with Revit

This is an exclusive Revit video tutorial for Revit users to learn how to make perfect elevations in Revit. In this regard, some useful tricks are given below :-

SILHOUETTES: Click on graphic display options and fix them at 0.5mm.

CAST SHADOWS: Very useful for displaying the geometry of your building.

FIX SHADOWS INTENSITY AT 15: Default shadows are very intense. Fix them at 15 in lighting menu.

DEPTH CUEING: This is an excellent feature in Revit 2017 that facilitate the users to fade elements on the basis of their distance. Turn it on and perform with the settings to obtain the exact fade.

LINEWORKS ?

It is recommended not to apply them as they do not support depth cueing and cannot be comprised in view template.

AMBIENT SHADOWS ?

They are very dark in black and white and should be applied with colored views.

COLORS ?

Apply black and white for construction documents. Consistent colors are ideal for demonstrating elevations. In this regard, ambient shadows can be utilized.
